WHAT HAPPENS ON THE DAY?

On they day we will rehearse through 5 pieces, all of which are written in 5 parts.  This means that even if you are the only person playing your instrument that day there is a good chance someone else on another instrument will be playing exactly the same as you, so don't panic!

The rehearsals will be split into morning and afternoon sessions, with breaks spread throughout the day.  Our conductor, Alastair, will guide you through, and be more than happy to answer any questions if you get stuck.  Our Music Creator, Finn (find out about our Adopt a Music Creator project here), will also be helping to make the musical magic happen!

At the end of the rehearsal we will play the pieces as they would be played in a concert, from beginning to end, not stopping even if there are mistakes!  This will not be an official concert, but you are welcome to invite any friends or family to come along to listen to the playthrough.  It is a good opportunity for those who may be unable to attend a more formal concert such as small children, or those with additional needs to come along .

The day is funded by GCCB, along with a subsidy from Making Music as part of our Adopt a Music Creator project, and so free to attend.  However, any donation you feel you would like to make on the day would be really appreciated.

WHERE DO I FIND MY MUSIC?

You will receive a copy of your music via the confirmation email, you should receive this by Sun 7th April.
Please print your own part and bring this along with you on the day.  If you have any difficulty doing this please let us know as soon as possible.

DO:

Download and print your music to bring with you.

Have a look through before the day, but don't worry if you find any parts tricky!

DON'T:

Try and view music on your phone - it will make your life very difficult!

Either use a large format tablet (and a very strong music stand), or good old fashioned paper copies.

DON'T:

Share the music.  All original copies owned by GCCB and copies provided for the purpose of this event only.
